Other Awards:

COF distributes monies in a number of ways:

  • When a donor establishes a fund with the COF they can designate any registered charity in Canada to be the beneficiary of the income generated by the endowment fund
  • The COF is responsible for the decisions re distribution of monies earned by some endowment funds. In all cases the income will be given to registered charities or qualified donees (as stipulated by CCRA - Canada Customs and Revenue Agency) who are successful applicants to the Foundation
  • The COF is responsible for the distribution of monies given by donors who stipulate that the monies are used within a certain geographic area, or have other conditions attached.
  • The COF does manage endowment funds, where the income is used to support bursaries, scholarships and awards. In all cases there is an external selection process. COF does not select bursary, scholarship or award winners.

The COF does not give money to individuals, or families in a direct fashion.
