Homelessness Partnering Strategy
The Federal Government's 2013 Economic Action Plan announced that more than $2.7 million will be allocated to the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) in Kelowna from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019.
The Central Okanagan Foundation is responsible for managing the HPS funds from the Government of Canada. The organizations in receipt of HPS funds must address one or more of the two priorities outlined in the 2014 -2019 Community Plan:
Priority 1: To reduce homelessness through a Housing First (HF) approach. *
Priority 2: To improve the self-sufficiency of homeless individuals and families and those who are at imminent risk of homelessness through individualized services.
