Spring 2008
A big highlight this May was the Senator Ross Fitzpatrick Tribute Dinner, held Saturday, May 17 at the Coast Capri. The dinner was held to honour Senator Fitzpatrick’s outstanding contribution to the community over the years.
A sold out crowd of friends, family and colleagues packed the Coast Capri ballroom. While the event boasted a guest list that trumps any event held in Kelowna to date, the unpretentious community feeling underscored the message that charity begins at home.
‘Empowering Generations to Give’ is what the Central Okanagan Foundation does best. In establishing the Senator Ross Fitzpatrick Family Fund, and donating the proceeds from the evening to the COF, the Fitzpatrick family has provided their gift in perpetuity to their children and grandchildren; handing down the torch of responsibility and teaching the value of giving.
