Mapping for Change

Mapping for Change: Enhancing Information Exchange and Collaboration through Geoweb Technology was created in response to community need for a Homeless Services Database. The Kelowna Community Advisory Board on Homelessness (CAB-H) recognized the need for an updatable, real-time database that could be utilized by service providers to articulate available housing resources for individuals experiencing homelessness in Kelowna. The Central Okanagan Foundation took the lead on convening a community partnership between the Central Okanagan Foundation, University of British Columbia- Okanagan (Institute for Community Engaged Research; Geothink), Okanagan College, the United Way of the Central and South Okanagan and Mitacs, for the purposes of creating a Homeless Services Database. This partnership connects institutions for the purposes of research and community development.
