Central Okanagan Foundation Grants Program Advisory Committee- Call for Applications:
The Central Okanagan Foundation is inviting community members to help shape how funding supports our region. We are currently seeking volunteers to join our Community Grants Advisory Committee.
This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to local decision-making and support organizations creating impact across the Central Okanagan.
About the Role
Committee members review grant applications and make funding recommendations as part of two annual grant intakes. Each member reviews approximately 20 applications and participates in collaborative adjudication meetings.
Fields of Interest
Our grants support organizations working across eight fields of interest:
Arts & Culture • Heritage & Historical • Environment • Animal Welfare • Children, Youth & Family • Education • Health & Community Services • Global Initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking three to four members for a three-year term beginning May 2026. Ideal candidates will:
- Have experience in the nonprofit or charitable sector
- Offer insight in areas such as arts and culture, social services, education, or animal welfare
- Be reliable and able to fully commit to the entire review process
- Have experience with grant review or community-based decision-making (an asset, not required)
- Bring lived experience and an understanding of the diverse communities within the Central Okanagan
- Value and support equity, diversity, and inclusion
Time Commitment
Approximately 15 hours per intake (two intakes per year)
- Application review: mid-May and October
- Committee meetings: late May or early June, and late October or early November
