KELSEY SERWA SCHOLARSHIP
The Kelsey Serwa Scholarship was established to recognize and support student-athletes whose educational journeys do not always follow a traditional path.
Inspired by her own experience as a high-performance athlete, Kelsey Serwa created this scholarship to address a gap she encountered when graduating from high school. While she completed all required credits on time, her commitment to competitive sport meant taking a reduced course load during her season, completing correspondence courses, and attending summer classes. Despite reaching the same academic finish line as her peers, this unconventional path made her ineligible for many scholarships.
After winning a silver medal at the 2014 Olympic Games, Kelsey used her platform to raise awareness and ensure that future student-athletes would not face the same barriers. The scholarship has provided 27 student-athletes with over $48,000 since its inception.
